Privacy Policy

The short version
We do not collect, store, or sell your personal data. YourThailand.net has no user accounts, no login, no tracking pixels, and no advertising network. We count how many pages are viewed, but never who viewed them — there is no profile, session, or identifier tied to you.
Browser storage
We use localStorage in your browser to save three small values. This data never leaves your device and we cannot read it.
dismissed-advisoriesA list of travel advisory IDs you have dismissed. Used to stop dismissed banners from reappearing.
map-hint-seenSet to 1 after the interactive map hint has been shown once. Prevents it from appearing on every visit.
visitor-day-seenToday's date, in Thailand time. Lets your browser tell whether it has already added +1to the day's visitor counter, so one person is not counted on every page. No identifier is created and the date is never sent anywhere.
To clear these, open your browser's developer tools → Application → Local Storage → yourthailand.net → Delete.
Analytics
We keep our own analytics rather than using Google Analytics or any third-party tracker. What we store is a set of daily counters — a row saying, for example, that/thailand/krabiwas viewed 41 times on a given day.
We do not store your IP address, your browser or device details, a session ID, a cookie, an advertising ID, an email address, or the full URL you came from. Because nothing identifies you, these counters cannot be linked back to a person — not by us, and not by anyone we might share a total with.
One clarification, because it is the only thing we look at: our server reads the browser identification string your browser sends with every request, purely to recognise search-engine crawlers and other automated software so we can leave them out of the counts. It is checked as the request arrives and then discarded — never written down, never logged, never attached to a count.
We count visitors by letting your own browser remember whether it has already been counted today (see visitor-day-seen above). If you block scripts or browse privately, you simply are not counted, and nothing on the site behaves differently.
Third-party services
Some data shown on this site is fetched from external APIs. These calls are made server-side from Cloudflare Workers — your browser does not connect to these services directly.
Images
Province and destination photos are sourced from Wikimedia Commons and loaded directly from Wikimedia's servers. Wikimedia may log standard CDN access data.
Public API
The public API at /api/*requires no authentication and collects no data about callers beyond Cloudflare's standard request logs.
Children
This site does not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children under 13. There is nothing to collect.
Changes
If this policy changes materially, we will update the date at the top of this page.
