About Phichit
Phichit is a quiet agricultural province on the Nan River between Phitsanulok and Nakhon Sawan, most celebrated as the setting for the Thai literary classic Khun Chang Khun Phaen, whose protagonists Wanthong and Phlai Kaeo are local folk heroes. The province hosts a colourful boat-racing festival each October on the Nan River, and Wat Tha Luang contains the revered Luang Pho Phet Khom amulet. Phichit is also known for its crocodile farm, one of the oldest in Thailand.
