About Phitsanulok

Phitsanulok is the gateway to lower northern Thailand and home to the revered Phra Phuttha Chinnarat, widely regarded as the most beautiful Buddha image in the country and housed in the magnificent Wat Phra Si Rattana Mahathat. The province sits at the crossroads of road and rail routes connecting Bangkok with Chiang Mai, and serves as a base for exploring Sukhothai Historical Park just 60 km to the west. Outdoor enthusiasts will find excellent trekking in Thung Salaeng Luang National Park on the province's eastern edge.
