About Ratchaburi

Ratchaburi is the western gateway province connecting the central plains with the Thai–Myanmar border highlands, most famous for its distinctive dragon-motif ceramic water jars (ong Ratchaburi) that are an icon of central Thai folk craft. The province contains the spectacular Damnoen Saduak Floating Market — one of Thailand's most photographed and one of the few traditional floating markets still operating daily — where vendors in wooden boats sell fresh produce beneath bamboo-hat sun shades. The cave temples of Khao Ngu and the multi-ethnic hill-tribe communities in the highlands near Three Pagodas Pass add further dimension to a province well worth more than a day trip.
