About Suphan Buri
Suphan Buri is a historically rich central province on the Tha Chin River, home to some of the finest Ayutthaya-era temples outside Ayutthaya itself, and celebrated as the birthplace of the legendary military hero Suphanburi's Khun Phaen. The province hosts the enormous U Thong National Museum, which charts Dvaravati-era artefacts found at the ancient city of U Thong, and the Black Box Museum dedicated to Thai popular music history. Suphan Buri is also renowned for its dry-fermented noodles (kway teow Suphan) and its excellent grilled pork.
