About Sing Buri

Sing Buri is one of Thailand's smallest provinces, a flat rice-growing plain on the Chao Phraya River that played a pivotal role in Thai history as the site of the Battle of Bang Rachan in 1767, when a band of villagers mounted a legendary but ultimately doomed resistance against the Burmese army. The province honours this heritage at the Bang Rachan Memorial Park, with statues of the seven warrior heroes. Wat Phra Non Jaksi houses an impressive 19th-century reclining Buddha of fine craftsmanship.
